As I began my journey through the past months,I tried to open myself up to change..change that I hoped would make me a better person on this planet, now beset with such unprecedented need.

Willing to let the often harsh light-of-truth illuminate many things in my life that until then I had so comfortably ignored,I prayed for strength and courage to stand up and face my own self-centered-ness and self-preoccupation that I had come to realize greatly held me back from making a real difference..in a world that more than ever needed each of its travelers to ‘’do what they could’’.

As I took my first step,I found that ‘’Reaching Out’’ to someone else in any way that I could..from giving them a call..sending them a song..baking them something..many little ways of doing this sprung to mind..not only Freed Myself From Myself,but brought me a new strength that I hadn’t had before.
In gaining this newfound strength-in-purpose a bit more each day,I began to find new ways of expressing this,and this collection came to be..

‘'Reaching Out’’ is now my prayer when I wake up, and so I feel this collection is aptly named.

Consisting of twenty-six pieces for solo piano,with the exception of a few touches of chamber-ensemble,I have given each piece the name of just some of the countries in especial need,and I found that when I associated each segment of music with its corresponding country I could let my thoughts and prayers go out to those who needed them so much..

My heartfelt hope is that this music might enhance your times of meditation,that we now need more than ever,and if can take a moment to glance down the list of places named..allow your thoughts and prayers to take flight to those in peril in these and other regions.

There is one piece that does not bear the name of a country..
This is ‘’For Ben’’ to whom I dedicate this album.
Benjamin Keough tread lightly and too briefly upon this earth,and shall forever live on in our dreams and in our hearts.

We love you Ben.
